Gods in Magic are typically beings of immense power tied to belief, worship, and the planes they inhabit. From Theros's pantheon, where devotion fuels their existence, to Amonkhet's trials and beyond, they embody ideals, natural forces, or entire cultures. Many gods are indestructible or have conditions that keep them from being creatures until certain requirements are met, making them resilient threats or support pieces. Their flavor is one of awe and distant power, often reflected in grand art and mythic rarities.
Typal God decks, often called God tribal, tend to be slower, value-oriented builds that use the gods as a mix of enchantment-like permanents and creatures. Because many gods care about devotion, legendary counts, or specific board states, the deck often plays like a control or midrange shell: ramping, stabilizing, then deploying gods that generate card advantage or lock down the board. Not every god is a creature immediately, so decks balance between enabling them and having other threats. The payoff is a resilient, hard-to-answer board of legendary permanents.
