Revolt is an ability word, which means it carries no rules meaning on its own. Instead, it labels a family of abilities that share one condition: a permanent left the battlefield under your control this turn. The reminder text appears on effects such as gaining 3 life, adding {G}{G}, drawing a card, or gaining 5 life, each paired with that same check.
In play, Revolt rewards you for sacrificing, trading, or otherwise losing permanents before the ability resolves. It encourages careful sequencing—cracking a fetch land, blocking with a token, or activating an ability that exiles a permanent can turn on several Revolt payoffs in one turn. Because the condition looks for any permanent you controlled leaving the battlefield, it fits both aggressive and value-oriented decks.
