Illusions are Magic's figments and mirages: blue-aligned apparitions conjured to confuse, distract, and strike before they dissolve. Across the Multiverse they appear as phantasmal warriors, shimmering duplicates, and half-real monsters, often with rules text that makes them fragile—vanishing when targeted, blocked, or otherwise tested. They feel like tricks that can win a fight only if the opponent plays into them.
Typal Illusion decks usually lean on blue's strengths: evasion, tempo, and copying. Because many Illusions are cheap and evasive but disposable, pilots often deploy them as pressure, then protect or recycle them with effects that return creatures or create token copies. Lord-style anthems and abilities that reward attacking with multiple Illusions can turn a board of fragile figments into a real clock, while the threat of losing them keeps opponents guessing.
