Skeletons are a black-aligned creature type found across many of Magic's worlds, from dank crypts and battlefields to necromancers' laboratories. They are the foot soldiers of undeath: silent, relentless, and often reassembled after being struck down. In flavor, they range from mindless bone piles to cunning undead captains and skeletal dragons.
Skeleton typal decks usually lean on black's strengths: cheap creatures, attrition, and recursion. They aim to deploy multiple Skeletons, trade them in combat or sacrifice them for value, then bring them back to keep pressure on. Because the type spans common through mythic rarities, builds can be budget-friendly or include flashier finishers. Support cards often reward having many Skeletons or reward creatures dying.
