Dinosaurs in Magic are the game's quintessential giant beasts: ancient, territorial, and almost always hungry. They appear across many planes, from jungle-covered continents to lost valleys and prehistoric-inspired worlds, usually in Red and Green, where their flavor leans on raw size, trampling force, and primal instinct. Some are fierce predators, others armored herbivores, but nearly all carry a sense of scale that makes them feel like forces of nature rather than ordinary animals.
Typal Dinosaur decks typically lean on ramp—accelerating mana with lands and creatures—so they can deploy oversized threats ahead of schedule. From there, the plan is usually to overwhelm with big bodies, often supported by lords or payoffs that reward controlling other Dinosaurs. Because the tribe's best creatures sit at high mana costs, these decks trade early speed for late-game dominance, using combat and board presence to close games.
