Clerics are the devotees of Magic's many faiths — temple healers, battlefield chaplains, cultists and oracles who channel a patron's favor into practical power. Across the game's worlds they lean White and Black: white Clerics mend wounds, shield allies and rally communities, while black Clerics bargain with darker powers, drain life and call back the dead. What unites them is devotion; a Cleric's strength generally flows from something larger than itself, whether a church, a god or a pact.
Typal Cleric decks, often simply called Clerics, build on that shared devotion. White-leaning builds tend to be defensive and go-wide, gaining life, buffing the team and grinding out long games, while black-leaning builds trade durability for attrition, sacrificing creatures and draining opponents. Because so many Clerics care about life totals and about other Clerics, the deck rewards committing to the tribe and stacking overlapping triggers rather than splashing for generic cards.
