Phyrexians are Magic's biomechanical horrors: creatures of flesh fused with metal, oil, and industry. Across the game's worlds they appear as an invasive, assimilating force, corrupting organic life into new, monstrous forms. Their flavor blends body horror, machinery, and a hive-like unity, making them one of the game's most distinctive creature types.
Decks built around the Phyrexian type tend to be black-heavy and grind-focused. They often use sacrifice, recursion, and incremental damage to outlast opponents, while artifact synergies reward playing cheap artifacts and creatures that grow or drain. Some builds go wide with tokens, others go tall with counters or equipment. Because many Phyrexians are also artifacts, typal decks can blur the line between creature and artifact strategies, using both to generate value and pressure.
