Dragons are among Magic's most recognizable creature types: ancient, winged, often red-aligned predators that embody raw power and independence. Across the game's worlds they appear as apex monsters, guardians, tyrants, and occasional allies, usually associated with mountains, fire, and treasure. Their rarity and size make them natural showpieces.
Dragon typal decks typically aim to accelerate mana into large threats, then overwhelm with a critical mass of Dragons and payoffs that reward controlling multiple. Because many Dragons cost a lot, such decks often run ramp, cost reduction, and protective or disruptive elements. They can be aggressive or midrange, but the plan is usually to land a few game-ending fliers while support cards keep the board stable.
