Imps are Magic's small, spiteful troublemakers — lesser fiends that hover around black's larger demons, running errands and committing petty cruelties across many of the game's worlds. They are overwhelmingly black, frequently winged, and usually cheap to cast, which makes them expendable, evasive foot soldiers in a dark deck rather than its finisher.
An Imp typal deck leans on that low curve: flood the board with small fliers and menacing creatures, chip away at life totals, and use sacrifice or graveyard payoffs to turn dead Imps into value. Because the type is broad and made up largely of common and uncommon cards, the plan is aggressive and redundant — every Imp is another body to attack with, block with, or feed to something larger.
