About Troll

Trolls are a creature type that stretches across many of Magic's worlds, from fairy-tale forests to grimy cityscapes. In the game, they are overwhelmingly black and green creatures, and they tend to be portrayed as stubborn, powerful, and hard to keep down. Their size and resilience make them a natural fit for decks that want to dominate the battlefield through combat.

Troll typal decks usually lean on black and green mana, mixing cheap Trolls with larger finishers. Because the type includes both common and mythic rare creatures, builds can range from aggressive tribal swarms to slower midrange decks that use lords or payoffs to reward a board full of Trolls. Many Trolls have abilities that help them stick around, so typal lists often grind well.
